Striking Jazz Age sheet music… from the prolific Tin Pan Alley collaboration of Billy Rose, Mort Dixon, and composer Ray Henderson. The elegant two-color Art Deco cover by Frederick S. Manning is especially appealing, combining romantic imagery, geometric window framing, and stylized birds characteristic of mid-1920s commercial illustration. Interior includes piano/vocal score with ukulele chord diagrams, reflecting the immense popularity of home ukulele accompaniment during the era. Rear cover advertises 'Dreamer of Dreams' by Gus Kahn and Ted Fiorito. Condition: Very Good. Complete and generally clean with moderate edgewear, light creasing, and small chips at corners and lower spine edge. Interior music pages remain bright and fully legible. Rear cover clean with mild handling wear. An attractive and highly displayable example. Frederick S. Manning (1874-1960) was an American commercial illustrator active during the 1910s-1920s whose work appeared on numerous Jerome H. Remick & Co. sheet music covers. His illustrations blended emerging Art Deco aesthetics with romantic and theatrical themes, helping define the visual culture of Tin Pan Alley publishing in the interwar years. Billy Rose (1899-1966) became one of America's best-known lyricists and entertainment impresarios, later associated with Broadway revues and standards including 'Me and My Shadow' and 'It's Only a Paper Moon.' Ray Henderson (1896-1970) was among the most successful dance-band composers of the 1920s and early 1930s, collaborating frequently with lyricists Mort Dixon and Buddy DeSylva on enduring popular songs.
