The authors' passion for research, their love of angling, even their avowed interest in the culinary qualities of their catch, seem to me a healthier approach to the subject than that of many writers of today, whose over-emphasis on technical and conservation aspects seem to take much of the excitement and spontaneity of fishing. Part I covers fishes, Part II rigs, tackles and methods of capture, with some reference to American ideas.
