The names of these steamers evoke memories that may have faded but are not forgotten: Island Queen, Forest City, Forest Queen, Percy V., Merryconeag, Sebascodegan, Aucocisco, Maquoit, Machigonne, and Sabino, to mention only a few. No less distinctive were the sailors who manned them, including Captain "Jimmie" Long, Captain Charlie Morrill, Engineer Bill Cook and Purser Jud Webber.
