The sixth edition, fifth English issue of the work, originally published in 1882. As the preface to the work explains, "this…issue is announced as the Sixth Edition, inclusive of the American reprint (a piracy of course!) This Edition is therefore really the Seventh that has left the press in little more than as many years."With sixteen illustrations including thirteen plate illustrations, both monochrome and colour, accompanying the text. This copy has the 'Beaufort Loch Flies' plate and the 'Sun Beam Salmon Flies' plate present, which are not present in all copies. With thirty-two pages of contemporary advertisements to the rear of the work. This is a thorough, illustrated guide by the esteemed fisherman David Foster which was compiled by his sons following his passing.
