Soft cover. Condición: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Wilson's Creek National Battlefield Foundation, Springfield, MO. 1993. Studies of the Civil War in the Trans-Mississippi Theater No.3. Softcover/Trade Wraps. First Edition. Signed by William Garrett Piston on the title page. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condi…tion: Near Fine; slight sunfading to spine and parts of wraps near spine. No DJ. Pictorial card stock wraps. Wraps are not bent or folded; spine is not creased or split; text is secure in binding. 105 pp 8vo. Little attention has been paid to the Kansas troops or U.S. Regulars who moved first from Fort Leavenworth to Kansas City, and then went roughly due south to link up with General Lyon. These letters tell their story. They were originally printed in the Leavenworth Daily Times between June and August 1861 and present a surprisingly coherent and accurate picture of the campaign which culminated in the battle of Wilson's Creek. A clean very presentable copy. Inscribed by Author(s).
