An approximately 3 x 1/2 inch piece of white paper stuck to front cover, previous owner's gift inscription, dated 1945, below, a bit wavy, flipped through, three brief marginal notes by the donor commenting on the photos and ads, otherwise tight, clean, relatively crisp and unmarked. Looks ca 1930s (no mention of World War II). Consists of informational and promotional essays about vacations, sports and industry, followed by nice historical and descriptive pieces on towns and cities. Scarce, with no copies on OCLC, and only 1 copy abroad. Travel; tourism; England; history; ephemera.

The book was published as No. 75 in Jonathan Cape's 'Florin Books' series, published at two shillings (2/-) or a Florin. ***Near fine in textured oatmeal cloth-covered boards with brown titles to the spine and front board. The boards are clean and unmarked. No creases or bumps. Corners sharp. Very slight reading lean to the binding, but no reading creases to the spine. Page block edges clean. Internally also near fine with no inscriptions. The paper used is quite thin, but there is virtually no creasing. Pages clean. No creases or tears. ***In a very good printed dustwrapper, which has not been price-clipped, retaining the original publisher's printed price of 2s. net. The dustwrapper is complete, with just some light edge wear at the top edge. There is some light creasing also to the top edges and a small closed tear at the top edge of the back panel near the foldover flap. No chips and no serious creases or tears. The spine colour remains unfaded - just slightly browned.
