A thoroughly diverse clutch of material, consisting of books, pamphlets, posters, post cards, printed ephemera, unbound proof copies, pornography, unique copies, and the like, all generally in Very Good condition. These include many imprints from The Jargon Society, the University of Illinois Press (his employer), The Finial Press, the Red Herring Press, as well as more fugitive pieces, probably executed for pleasure in limited issues. Altogether, in excess of three hundred items, varying in size from folio to diminutive scraps of small printed paper. Moore has been reckoned to be one of American's most accomplished, most unknown printers of the latter half of the twentieth century. He excelled, as well, in the culinary arts, in music (the autoharp was his instrument), crochet, Japanese tea ceremony, and more. The man's professional evolution was heavily influenced, early on, by Harry Duncan and Kim Marker. It was said of him that his personal bias in printing - separate from his day job at the University - depended almost entirely upon the degree of challenge each task presented him with. That bias is readily apparent in the sheer volume of items present in this collection, which is fully contained in two standard banker's boxes.
