Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Good. No Jacket. Cover Art by Robert Schultz & Ed Valigursky Ilustrador. 1st Edition. The World Jones Made is set in the year 2002 AD. On a then-future post-apocalyptic Earth, there was a devastating conflict that involved the use of atomic weapons. Many American cities were targeted, and the People's Republic of China (and Soviet Union) also collapsed, leading to the imposition of a Federal World Government (Fedgov). In Margaret St. Clair Agent of the Unknown, Don Haig had been content to lie around and drink in the synthetic beauty of the pleasure planetoid Fyon, until a woman came into his life. A woman more beautiful and more perfect than any other female in the galaxy. A woman who brought about a curious change in Don. This is Ace Double, D-150 and is signed Philip Kendrick Dick; which begs the question, why Kendrick, when his middle name was Kendred. I have found a person who new the original owner and asked the question; they did not have an answer. The signature does have similarities to several others of his, but that is not enough to verify it. At this point the signature can not be authenticated making this copy a novelty at best. Good condition: pages browning, covers and spine are scuffed, no tears, but a couple of pages are beginning to tear away from binding.

Añadir al carritoFirst Edition. First Printing, a paperback original novel, bound dos-a-dos with Margaret St. Clair's Agent of the Unknown. Octavo (16cm); pictorial card wrappers; dark yellow edge-staining; 192; 128pp. Light wear to extremities, tanning to text edges, with a faint vertical crease to left edge of front wrapper on both sides; Very Good+. Dick's third book and second published novel. "Fed-gov is reconstructing the post-war world according to the precepts of relativism. Jones, a former carnival fortune-teller and preacher who can see a year into the future, says the alien drifters, origin unknown, are the greatest threat the world faces, a problem the Fed-gov refuses to deal with. Jones forms a fanatical organization to deal with the drifters and the Fed-gov" (Levack 48a).
