Hardcover. Condición: Good. Immediate dispatch from Somerset. Nice older book in good condition. Some tanning wear and marking due to age. All detachable cards/plates present. Year 1906. Hardcover. English. See images for condition. About the book >.>.> In this little work the authors have endeavoured to preserve on I paper some… of the more picturesque parts of Braintree and Bocking which are rapidly disappearing, and at the same time to present some of those objects of interest which are not visible to the ordinary passer-by. They have tried to ensure, as far as possible, the accuracy of the illustrations, which are the primary object of the book an accuracy that, in the case of the wooden bosses in the roofs of the churches, was only made possible by means of excellent photographs taken by Mr. H. T. Lawson, Fairfield Road, Braintree. To their numerous friends who have given them assistance in any way, the authors would now take the opportunity of giving their best thanks, and more especially to Mr. H. J. Cunnington, for very kindly writing a brief Introduction and placing his unrivalled collection of Essex books at their disposal; to the Rev. J. W. Kenworthy, Vicar of Braintree, for kind permissio.
