(Designers Letterpress and Lithographic Printers) of Ipswich, including: a small stitched booklet entitled "Cowells House Rules for the guidance of compositors and readers and our customers"; a tri-fold ca…rd pamphlet entitles " Rules for Proof Correction"; a bi-fold card list of sizes of typefaces; an advertising blotter (apparently used, as rear has mirror writing; a four-fold paper advertisement leaflet for Tarquinius Titling and Scintilla Capitals; and a four-fold paper advertisement for "A Handbook pf Type and Illustration" complete with inserted order form: 6 items in total enclosed in a brown card slip case with the company logo of a seahorse on the front. None are dated apart from the House Rules which appears to have been reprinted in 1955. The other items are probably similar in age. All are in very good condition. The original owner's very neat initials and a date of 1960 appear on the front of the slip case and his book-plate is pasted inside the front cover of the slip case. Ideally suited to anyone interested in the history of printing or of the company.
