Añadir al carritoVintage studio still photograph from the 1950 film, showing actors Barbara Stanwyck, Gilbert Roland, and Blanche Yurka. With a date stamp reading 12 AUG 25 50 on the bottom left corner of the verso, along with a Paramount blindstamp. Based on the 1948 novel by Niven Busch. A tense, vengeful Western which owes as much to archetypes of Greek tragedy and Shakespearean drama as it does to the conventions of the genre, following a rancher's strong-willed daughter who seeks revenge on her father for the wrongful hanging of her best friend. One of the few films in the noir canon that is also a Western. Set in New Mexico, shot on location in Arizona. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with a small closed tear to the top edge, repaired with white paper tape on the verso. Criterion Collection 435. Pitts 1478. Scorsese, A Personal Journey Through American Movies. Añadir al carritoVintage studio still photograph from the 1960 film. Extremely watchable trash, a big-budget film with lowdown agenda, and the last film in which Elizabeth Taylor, who won an Oscar for her performance, could have been accurately described as young and radiant. Something of an American answer to De Sica's "Madame De." with the object in question being a fur coat rather than a pair of earrings. Shot on location in New York. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with extensive annotations to the verso in red felt-tipped ink, blue ink, and manuscript graphite.

Screenplay for 1952 Hollywood movie starring Kirk Douglas, Lana Turner, Barry Sullivan and Dick Powell. Winner of 5 Academy Awards. Foreword by John Houseman. ILLUSTRATED in black-and-white photographs of 1952 movie stills with accompanying descriptive captions. "In 1952, Charles Schnee won the Best Screenplay Oscar for "The Bad and the Beautiful," the story of a Hollywood producer who is part genius, part louse, a charming, talented visionary capable of ruthless manipulation of the lives of others to bring his vision to the screen." 137 pages. "In addition to the final script and Houseman's foreword, Matthew J. Bruccoli has provided the original to the screenplay, a wordy version that lacks the power of the final script. Providing further information on the process of moviemaking, Bruccoli includes Anne F. Hardin's discussion of the David Raskin score that was used in the film and of adding music to film in general. The Bradshaw short story, "Memorial to a Bad Man," and 19 illustrations are included in this volume." LBCMC1.
