Las comunidades judías tampoco han sido idénticas en todas las épocas, ni han sido las únicas que padecieron ersecuciones y discriminación en cada temporalid…ad. Por ello cada acto de violencia relacionado con el judaísmo posee su specificidad y únicamente es explicable en el contexto particular que se produjo. Así, el propósito del presente libro es analizar tales acontecimientos cuidando la relevancia que cada uno de ellos tuvo en su momento preciso. Inicia con la violencia contra los judíos en la Alejandría romana e indaga sobre la aparición de un antijudaísmo cristiano de base teológica en la Antigüedad Tardía. Continúa con la vida de judías y judíos en la España anterior a la expulsión de 1492 y luego se interna en la historia de un converso que acabó quemado en efigie en la Goa portuguesa. Avanza hasta los pogroms de fines del siglo XIX y discurre luego en la forma en la que el antisemitismo europeo impactó en la Argentina de fines del XIX y principios del XX, para detenerse después en el destino de los judíos de nacionalidad argentina en la Varsovia ocupada por los nazis. Pasa luego a la denuncia de un almirante judío de la Armada argentina contra el gobierno peronista y examina al antisemitismo en el país desde el siglo XX hasta nuestros días. Finaliza analizando la forma en la que el canciller Héctor Timerman fue judaizado o desjudaizado discursivamente en relación al memorándum de entendimiento Irán-Argentina.

Summary The Early Bronze Age site of Jebel al-Mutawwaq, located on a hill overlooking the Zarqa River in Jordan, was a thriving centre of population from the second half of the fou…rth millennium into the third millennium BCE. During this time, the settlement developed both in population and social complexity, undergoing the beginnings of an urbanization process that fundamentally changed the relationship between this community of the Transjordanian Highlands with the surrounding landscape, until it was completely abandoned around 2900 BCE. This volume offers a new assessment of the site by combining data from the first surveys of the site, under a Spanish team led by J. A. Fernandez-Tresguerres, with the new results from six seasons of excavations led by teams from Perugia in Italy, and San Esteban in Spain. In doing so, this work sheds new light on this walled settlement and its huge megalithic necropolises, and offers a fresh understanding of the site.
