Añadir al carritoSaddle-stitched offset in wrappers. Complete run. Publication by Mexican-born French artist Ricardo Block, funded by Film in the Cities, the St. Paul-based media arts group established to teach junior and high-school students the arts of film, photography, and video founded in 1975. By the 1980s, the organization had pivoted to…adult education and artists, as evidenced by Block's magazine featuring an important and notable group of contemporary artists, writers, and filmmakers. Issues include: No. 1. Contributors include: James Broughton, Willard van Dyke, Jonas Mekas, Stuart Klipper, Betty Hahn, Thomas F. Barrow, Robert W. Fichter, Jim Cabo, and Jane Brakhage. No. 2. Contributors include: Pauline Oliveros, Keith Smith, Bonnie Donohue, Bruce Baillie, Gary Metz, Roger Mertin, and Linda Montano. This copy inscribed "from the archive of Linda Mary Montano," and features an original gouacheby Montano on the inside of the front cover (see photograph). An artist card by Montano is laid in. We are aware of 4 such copies from the edition that feature varying levels of treatment by Montano, with this being one of the more elaborately treated. No. 3. Contributors include: Jane Brakhage, Stuart Klipper, William H. Jackson, Paul Berger, Eileen Cowin, Willie Varela, Ken Jacobs, and Robert Fichter. No. 4. Contributors include: Bruce Charlesworth, Marjorie Keller, Jerome Rothenberg, Jane Brakhage, and Barbara Jo Revelle. All issues near fine with some toning to covers, no. 2 with mild smudging to covers.
