An old library copy that saw a lot of use. A new spine was fabricated with the old spine title pasted back on. The boards have shelf wear including bumping, rubbing and a bit of bubbling. The front hinge is solid but has a shake. The first half-dozen endpapers suffer varying degrees of creasing and loss but have been repaired with archival tape (See pic of the publishers page for the worst of it). There appears to be one library stamp, as well as writing on the top outer edge of the textblock. When laid flat the book leans to the right. The textblock is fairly bright and generally in good shape. There is utility to this volume, which happens to be the British edition.

A solid ex-library copy. Library evidence includes a reference number on the spine of the dustjacket (see pic), light edgewear to the bottom of the covers, light soiling and two stamps to the textblock edges, a label on an endpaper and a card pocket on the rear endpaper. The textblock appears to be unmarked and in generally good order. Both interior hinges have just been glued (90% of old Jane's need this).

This was a like new copy that got caught in a shower during shipping. At a glance, it is not noticeable, and there are no functional issues. The dust jacket has minor shelf wear and is stained on the top of the interior, which is only visible if you remove the jacket. Pages 80 to 450 have some degree of wrinkling along the top inch or so. See the pic of the Italy page for the worst of this. The United Kingdom page pic shows how this gradually diminishes. By the United States pic it is entirely gone. Otherwise, it is a bright, tight, clean copy with no known marks. It is not ex library.

There is a mild shake to the hinges and both the head and tail of the spine have been tugged. Both the first and last free endpapers are creased but nicely smoothed out. The text block is bright, minimally toned and in good condition. Has a Special Supplement on Italian War Construction.

Someone, likely the original owner, took this book along on deployment and made neat notes of what ships they encountered. There are 5 notes under Australia, 20 in the UK, 14 in the USA and one each in Canada and New Zealand. There may be others. See the USA and UK pics for examples. Other than that, the book is solid and in quite nice condition. The covers are bright and tight, just a little rubbed at the extremes. The textblock is ordered and only lightly toned on the exterior edges.

Six archival reinforcements were just laid to arrest this. There is a light shake to the hinges, but they have just been glued (typical for a landscape format book).

A particularly nice copy with a confounding flaw. The covers are bright, minimally bumped and shelf worn, with only a light shake to the hinges. The textblock is bright and ordered. However, the original owner made notes on 20 pages in the US section, a pair of notes in Japan, and one each in China, Indonesia, Korea, Peru and Russia. The grey penciled notes were about 75% erased in intensity, while the red penciled ones maybe 50%. Seven of these pages have ink notes that cannot be erased at all. Many of these notes are only a light word or underline, while a few are more extensive. The "USA-Submarines" page pictured is this at its worst. This is the British edition.

There is only one downside to this copy, old cello tape that has yellowed on the dustjacket and endpapers (see pics). Otherwise, a very good, tight and bright book. It is not ex library.
