While meant to be humorous, the songs retain all the jingoism of the originals. The author notes that the lyrics were lifted from active-duty soldiers. Appended are ads for the author?s other humorous works on World War I, including Trench Gas: A Bunch of Clever Nuts and The Life and Death of the Kaiser.
