Some rubbing to the edges and sides of both marbled boards and some light red staining to the head of the front board, which has also slightly affected the leather on the front board. The rubbing to the board edges has resulted in some fraying to the paper covering at the board edges. A charming previous owners bookplate to the front paste down. A little soiling to the edges of the periphery of the end papers. Slight foxing to the fore edges. Ink inscription to the head of the title page, dated 1857. Light finger soiling to several of the lower page corners and several of the corner tips of the pages have been lightly turned.
