Gilt titles and State seals stamped on the spines. Both volumes are chipped on the spines and outer joints. Edge wear to the covers. Faded gilt title and illustration on the spine volume 2. Light to moderate scattered foxing to the contents both volumes. This set is matched. Volume I was previously owned by Georgia historian Albert Saye. There is some pencil underlining in this volume. Albert Saye wrote his name top of the right front flyleaf. The right front flyleaf in volume 1 is partly stuck to the blank front end paper in the bottom left corner. Volume II was previously owned by Charles C. Jones and Charles Edgworth Jones both historians from Augusta, Georgia. There are tipped in illustrations, portrait, and news clippings in the text. Charles C. Jones Jr. armorial book plate located on the front paste down. His signature is written on the right front flyleaf. Charles Edgworth Jones, son of C. C. Jones, small name label pasted below C. C. Jones bookplate. Staining and foxing to the front end sheets volume 2. A fair set only. Howes S 794; De Renne II p.516; Sabin 91574.
