The author 's name is not stated but it is Andrew Kennedy Hutchison Boyd (1825-1899), a miscellaneous writer and son of Rev. Dr. Boyd of Glasgow. He was originally intended for the English Bar but entered the Church of Scotland, and was minister latterly at St. Andrews. He published several works and is probably best known for his "Recreations of a Country Parson". This volume contains a collection of fourteen essays covering a range of subjects.
