90 pages, woodcut frontis with tissue guard. Blue stamped cloth binding with bright gilt lettering on the spine. Chapters include On Completeness of Character, On Earnestness, On Diligence, On Influence, On wandering Thoughts, Minor Morals. Sometimes attributed to Rev. Daniel Wise or to Mary E. Shipley, each of whom were highly popular authors of this genre, in fact WorldCat assures that the true author is Henrietta Wilson. Very good condition, an unworn copy with corner of front free end paper torn away (name removal?), light soil on title page, occasional mild foxing.

No printed date but has ink name and date of 1898 on back of flyleaf. Mildly/moderately grimy light brown boards with light gilt impressed titles to front & spine, illustrations of two figures, one kneeling, other lying out on front board. Some wear to spine-ends & boards' corners. Floral decorated endpapers. Several full-page B&W etchings by RCW (?). Occasional smudge in contents but overall clean and tidy.
