Softcover. Condición: Very Good. Mongoose Publishing Power Classes (d20) XII - Fool (VG+)Manufacturer: Mongoose PublishingProduct Line: Power Classes (d20)Type: SoftcoverCode: MGP1112Copyright Date: 2003Author: August HahnPage Count: 16Please review the condition and any condition notes for the exact condition of this item. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Product Description:Jester, jongleur, comedian, entertainer, and village idiot; the faces of the fool are as many and as varied as the roles they fill. For as long as history has been written by the powerful, there have been those who exist beside them with no greater mission in life than to teach the valuable lesson of not taking life too seriously. Not all fools dwell in the courts of the land, but wherever they are, they bring a legacy of laughter, a history of humility overcoming hubris, and a reputation for ridicule. Some tease, some cajole, and others denigrate themselves to show others the value of laughing at oneâ s self. No matter the approach, the end is the same; humor is the force that makes knaves out of knights and finds peace in the most profound sorrow. Fools share many traits with bards, but their aims are often entirely at odds. Bards are the centre of attention, with their performances inspiring courage and admiration for the performer and his audiences. In contrast, the skilled displays of fools may entertain, but the fool is never the point of the performance. Instead, the subject of a foolâ s efforts is rarely grateful as all his faults are laid bare for the world to see. Kind hearted fools do this to teach, in the hopes of their artistic victims learning from the display. There are also bitter fools, lost in their cynicism, whose aims are to humiliate and bring down those above them. An evil fool can be a vicious, cutting performer, making his audiences laugh even while he sows derision and hatred in their hearts.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Product Description:Alchemy is typically a perplexing art for common folk in a fantasy setting. In any world where the majority of people must toil to survive, the idea of someoneâ s life work being to stand around boiling liquids and talking about the â essence of rare matterâ is quite alien to them. Alchemists in a fantasy world are rarely considered anything other than strange folk with ways that set them apart from the rest of society. Of course, this is not always the case. The first time an invading band of humanoids is turned aside by thunderstones and tanglefoot bags, the alchemist responsible might find himself very popular indeed.

Softcover. Condición: Very Good. Mongoose Publishing Encyclopaedia Arcane (d20) Abjuration - Shielded by Sorcery (VG+)Manufacturer: Mongoose PublishingProduct Line: Encyclopaedia Arcane (d20)Type: SoftcoverCode: MGP1021Copyright Date: 2003Author: August HahnPage Count: 64Please review the condition and any condition notes for the exact condition of this item. All pictures are stock photos. The condition of the item you will receive is VG+. Our grading system is explained in the terms of sale section of our bookseller page. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Product Description:That said, it is also true that few mages would choose abjuration as a specialty. As one of the smallest school in terms of spells and effects, there are not many who consider the loss of other schools outweighs the dubious benefit of additional defenses. For those few who walk the path of an abjurer, what is gained is well worth the cost.Exploring the boundaries of what protection magic can provide grants an abjurer a longer, safer life than many of his brethren. As any abjurer can say with surety; there is no spell that cannot kill, no sword that will not strike true, and no claw that will not tear flesh. When these things happen, only a well cast defense will ward off harm. Abjuration magic can form protective fields and negate hostile magic. It dismisses enemies and removes curses. Abjuration is the antithesis to every other school of magic. To study abjuration is to focus on what makes magic work and what can be done to counter it.Not surprisingly, abjuration is fairly simple art. Some of its more powerful spells have such an overriding effect that little variation is needed in many cases. The school boasts the ability to negate, return, or simply block most other magic with only a handful of different spells. Armed with only a couple of abjurations, a mage can be well defended from hostile magic of any kind. Another abjuration spell or two renders him resistant to physical damage as well. The right spells at the right time can make a spellcaster quite impervious to the threats of violence, regardless of its form. These defenses are not just valuable to the abjurer himself. Those who travel with an abjuration specialist can usually count on also reaping the benefits of magical defense. Several of the spells an abjurer can cast will protect an area from harm or grant their effects to those the caster touches. If an abjurer negates an incoming spell before it can take effect, he has defended his entire party from the damage they would have taken. In this way, an abjurer can quickly become the most valuable member of any adventuring team.Designed to be seamlessly slotted into any fantasy-based d20 games system, these sourcebooks enhance and expand all arcane spellcasting classes, adding a whole new dimension to campaigns. Each book of the Encyclopaedia Arcane is not just intended for Games Masters to use in conjunction with their non-player characters, however. Players themselves will find full details on how to use the magic systems with new or existing characters, greatly increasing the wealth of options they are presented with by the core rulebooks. As noted above, the primary flaw of the abjuration school is a lack of choices. There are not many spells to choose from for an abjurer and aside from direct protection, the school has very little flexibility. In this book, you will find special feats, character options, spells, and suggestions for expanding an abjurerâ s repertoire. Devotees of abjuration need not be limited any longer. So find a comfortable, well defended place to curl up and peruse what lies within. Abjuration may be the shield of the magical world, but that does not mean the art cannot be used offensively. After all, shields can also bashâ ¦.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Product Description:It was shaping up to be one hell of a day. The run had gone south in a big hurry, the corp they were supposed to hit had been alerted to their strike at least an hour before hand, and half his team had been chopped to meat before they even reached the vault. Now he was stuck behind seventeen inches of case hardened steel, waiting for this idiot hacker to get through the code locks and hoping she could accomplish it before another salvo of warheads ripped the vault door off its screaming hinges.A heavy set of impacts against the steel bulwark at his back told him that they were trying to get in without resorting to blasting. That was good; it gave them more time. It also meant they were in the real vault this time. Takoma goons were never subtle, and if he had been in one of the false computer cores, they would be hauling out the heavy artillery and picking through the pieces later. Precision from these slags meant they had orders not to hurt this chamber and that gave the good guys a chance. At least, he really hoped that was what it meant.Even now, with every two sheet in the city calling his team renegades and bounty hunters after his hide for the two mil Takamishi had on him, Jenner still liked to think of his team as the good guys. In a city where the police were just a security force owned by the highest bidder and the sky was blocked out with skyscrapers that dwarfed the Tower of Babel, lancers like himself were the only free souls left in the system. They were outsiders, he was an outsider, in a world where being in was the only protection there was. Tank had always said they were just going to get themselves killed doing this kind of work, and a Takoma rifle with a clip full of DUDE rounds had proven him right ten minutes ago. Damn itâ ¦ Heâ d miss that big man. He missed Tankâ s big gun right now.A weird sound emitted from the door, a high pitched whine that seemed to echo from deep inside it. â We need to hurry the hell up!â he yelled into his net-mike. From wherever the hell she was deep inside the webworks of the corporationâ s frame, Hellcat must have heard him because she zombied her left arm in the real world into a very rude gesture and her screen printed out, â I am not baking muffins here, Rip. Itâ ll be a minute.â As the wailing of the vault door grew louder, Rip got up and pull all the weight he could off his meat leg. The other one was shot up pretty bad and if they did live through this, he saw double amputee in his future. Knowing that surviving long enough to let Hellcat shred the data she needed out of this bloody companyâ s frame meant holding off whatever came through the hole that was getting cut, he flipped an expensive looking office table over and struck gold- wood veneer over steel. That would absorb a few rounds. He popped the tripod out on his heavy and set it up to cover the shrieking door. â You need a minute, Iâ ll get you a minute. Sixty seconds, coming up. You take sixty-ONE and itâ s closed caskets all around.â OGL CyberNet is a complete core rulebook, released under the Open Game License, allowing players and publishers alike to set games and scenarios to the cyberpunk setting of their choice. Mongoose Publishing is releasing OGL CyberNet under a royalty-free world wide license, allowing publishers (of both print and electronic books) to use the CyberNet logo and rules to create their own settings and adventures.
