An important publication, since it was issued, as the Publisher's Note says ".in haste, but…with respect and care." so soon after the assassination of the great man on April 4 1968. Contains text of the Eulogy by Dr Benjamin E Mays, written on April 9, Atlanta, Georgia. Concludes with Coretta King's words : " I would challenge you today to see that his spirit never dies and hat we will go forward from this experience which to me represents the crucifixion - on toward resurrection and redemption of his spirit. We must carry on . . . " Rear wrap has the words to 'We Shall Overcome' recto, and an image of the Nobel Prize for Peace on laminated rear panel. The whole tight, bright and clean, with no markings or inscriptions and minimal evidence of handling. Spine uncreased. Front edge starting to lift very slightly. A very nice copy. It publishes critical, bibliographical, sociopolitical…and historical studies of sf, Utopias, weird fiction and Fantasy. Averaging 90 large unillustrated pages per issue, Quarber Merkur has now published around three million words of serious criticism; it had reached #74 by the end of 1990.
