Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Fine. Annie Newnham Ilustrador. 1st Edition. Clarion Publishing was a new private press founded by Trevor Weston, and this Prospero Poets series was its first venture. And this "Pen Pals" title was the first in that series. The Prospero Poets imprint went on to publish some major new works by such poets as Andrew Motion, Wendy Cope, Simon Rae, Ted Hughes, Carol Ann Duffy, etc., and with illustrations by some illustrious artists including Quentin Blake, Rigby Graham, John Lawrence, Miriam Magregor, and John Vernon. A wonderful series of books. This inaugural effort, featuring a new poem by Roger McGough and colored drawings by Annie Newnham, was published in a limited edition of 549 copies, of which this is one of only 149 copies signed by McGough and Newnham. This is number 75, numbered and initialed by Trevor Weston. The book is bound in boards covered with French Canson paper with additional illustrated paper panels affixed to both upper and lower covers. This copy comes complete with a collection of ephemera from Clarion Publishing: a signed compliments slip from Trevor Weston, two copies of a four-page introduction to Clarion and Prospero Poets, plus various newsletters, sample pages, prospectuses, postcard, order form, etc. Eighteen pieces in all (some repeated). A fine copy of this fine press book with the colored drawings matching the exuberance of the poem. All printed ephemera pieces are also in fine condition. MC. Signed by Author & Illustrator.
