Speed was the craze and the New York Central had the men and the machines to deliver what the public wanted. The men took immense pride in their jobs, appreciating the social position that was associated with running "the Vanderbilt Road." This is the story of their trains, their railroad, and most important of all--THEIR LOCOMOTIVES. Included is a Plain Dealer article of December, 1975 of the "Wreck of the luxurious Pacific Express in Ashtabula 100 years ago is recalled".
