His only surviving work is the "Excellentium Imperatorum Vitae" (included herein pp. 1-125). This is actually only one volume of Nepos' larger "De Viris Illustribus," originally containing descriptions of foreign and Roman kings, generals, lawyers, orators, poets, historians, and philosophers. Johann Albert Fabricius (1668 - 1736) who was a German classical scholar and bibliographer included this work in his 'BIBLIOTHECAE LATINAE" (1st pub. 1703). [ ( xxxvi) , 140pp, 66] Vellum, spine with raised bands. Marble page edges. Interior of text Is tight and intact. A few margin notes. First 15 pages have a bottom margin damp stain. Slight lean. Alberti made major contributions toward a more accurate theology based on knowledge of the Greek language. His many writings exemplify the versatility of his knowledge. An excellent theologian and one of the best scholars of Biblical hermeneutics of his time, he also was filled with the spirit of Greek literature and with the very essence of it. Scarce.
