Bound in likely contemporary paper covered boards with leather spine which is lettered and decorated in gold Marbled endpapers. Small pictorial bookplate of Henry Lambert, avocat, Versailles. Consists of halftitle, title page, 44 and 2 pages and 72 plates. Most of the text and the first 28 plates (or so) have closed splits to paper (sometimes with rough repair) whch have either been caused by age or more likely some sort of vandalism. Text has other sporadic marks and stains. Many plates are also a bit browned or spotted. Binding showing signs of wear and age. This is only sold as A POOR WORKING COPY and would need very extensive restoration to properly repair.
