C.G. Reid

C.G. Reid writes adventure stories for readers who would rather be outside. He lives in North Saanich on Vancouver Island, where the mountains, rivers, and coastline in his books are a short drive from his front door.

Before he wrote fiction, he spent 10 years, surveying and recovering, shipwrecks around the world for a commercial treasure hunting company, working with remotely operated vehicles across ocean floors most people will never see. Today he works as a hydrographer for the government, where diving is simply part of the job. Off the clock, he is a lifelong snowboarder who marked his 50th birthday with a trip to Patagonia, and who taught his son Rowan to ski at two and a half years old.

The Rowan Hail series began as a way to get that same son reading. It grew into six books of mountain survival, white-water, mystery, and ocean adventure, each grounded in real Vancouver Island geography and written with deep respect for the First Nations history of the places it visits.

Book One, Raven's Throat, is now available!
