P. D. Davis

P.D.Davis was born and raised in the farmlands between the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia and the hills of Southeast Tennessee. The culture, landscapes, and distinctive voices of the South remain at the heart of his writing.

After surviving meningitis as a young child, Davis learned later in grade school that he had significant hearing loss. Navigating the hearing and Deaf worlds through hearing aids, lipreading, and sign language, he found refuge in books and journaling and began developing his voice as a writer.

His debut, When Crickets Weep, is a creative nonfiction memoir exploring Southern memory, Deaf identity, childhood trauma, and the difficult path toward truth and healing. An advocate for adult survivors of child sexual abuse and exploitation, Davis writes with compassion for those whose stories have too often gone unheard. He is currently developing a mystery-thriller series touched with supernatural suspense set for release in Spring '27.
