Dalbin A Osorio

Dalbin A. Osorio is an educator, literacy advocate, and the author of Leah & The 0% Match: The Algorithm of Friends. He has spent two decades working alongside children and families, and currently serves as Executive Director of the Dyslexia Tutoring Program, where he helps young readers find their footing — and their confidence. He is also a doctoral candidate in education at the University of Miami.

He wrote Leah & The 0% Match for every child who has ever been handed a label and told it's the whole story. When a friendship app rates Leah a "0% match" with a classmate, the two of them spend the book proving the algorithm wrong — a warm, funny, joyfully diverse story about belonging, difference, and the kind of connection no system can measure. The title character shares a name with his own daughter, who remains his first and most honest editor.

Dalbin lives in Maryland with his wife and their two children. When he isn't writing for young readers, he's working to make sure every kid grows up believing they are far more than a score.
