Ines Akrap

Ines Akrap is a frontend engineer working at the intersection of performance, accessibility, and sustainable web development.

With a Master’s degree in Telecommunications and Information Technology, she currently works as a Solutions Engineer at Storyblok and specializes in web performance and responsible digital systems. She is a Google Developer Expert (GDE) in Web Performance, a Green Software Champion, and a Women Techmakers Ambassador.

Ines serves as co-chair of the W3C Sustainable Web Interest Group, where she contributes to the development of the Web Sustainability Guidelines (WSG), helping define how the industry approaches environmental impact in digital products.

Her work reframes performance and sustainability as signals of engineering quality. She focuses on making technical trade-offs visible, measurable, and understandable, showing that responsible web development is not about doing less, but about making better decisions under real-world constraints.

Through writing, speaking, and standards work, she promotes a web that respects users, devices, and long-term system impact.
