Hafis Demetrius Saiful La Bey , the hip - hop poet Professionally known as Demegod is a author, rap artist, poet, actor and speaker. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Mount Vernon, NY. A graduate from Mount Vernon High School, Hafis has risen through the all too familiar ordeals of urban environments and the problems that come to many youth. His growth experiences and what he saw around him fueled his creativity, narrative writing and production as a poet & rap lyricist.
