Anthony Smith was born in Williamsburg, Virginia, the second oldest of seven children. He was

raised on the oldest laboring farm in America, still overseen by his father, Howard Smith. You

could say that transportation is in his blood - his first job was working at his father's charter bus

company, Oleta Coach Lines.

Since about 10th grade, Anthony has taken his education seriously, whether learning in a

classroom or on his own. He found he had some skills with computers and being an autodidact,

and most of what he knew was by reading and trial and error. He attended Kee Business

College, where he was asked to speak at graduation; John Tyler Community College, where he

got his driver's education training in classroom instruction and on the road; Reynolds

Community College, where he received a business associate's degree; and William & Mary,

where he got a degree in Business Process Management and Consulting. Ever the scholar,

Anthony graduated summa cum laude from William & Mary.

A go-getter, Anthony worked his way up from coffee and donut boy (a file clerk) to office

manager at Sauer, Inc., before switching to real estate and then landing a position as IT

manager at Power Equipment Inc. He was hired to help automate the company, though

eventually Anthony became the president's right-hand man and ran the office in his absence.

While the president had aspirations of someday turning the company over to Anthony, he had

different ideas. He wanted to work part-time and begin working in ministry. His boss was

unhappy with this decision and decided to hit him where it hurt - by prohibiting Anthony from

saying anything about God at work. Due to this, Anthony was eventually fired after using the

word "blessed" too often.

Hurt, Anthony wasn't sure what to do, though he had always wanted to start his own business.

His girlfriend (now wife) Tara suggested he start a driving school since Anthony liked to talk so

much. He did his research, found out how to become a driver improvement instructor, and then

began Blessed Driving School, LLC. Since he was fired for using the word "blessed," Anthony

decided to use it in the name.

Founded in 2008, Blessed Driving School, LLC has blessed Anthony's family and thousands of

others who have experienced its classes. The classes are spirit-filled, educational, and fun. It

has multiple instructors in different parts of Virginia, and Ms. Helen is a favorite for those with a

heavy foot who need a driver improvement class. A Department of Motor Vehicles

representative indicated Blessed Driving School is a leader in the industry in helping students

who need learner's permit test assistance compared to other driving schools in the entire

Commonwealth of Virginia.

Anthony said the school has a unique teaching style with the mind to see what they can learn

from their students when instructing. No one is excited about being in a class for EIGHT

HOURS, but by the time the class ends, most students are glad they experienced the BLESSED

class. We listen to our students, which is why they have been so successful at passing the test

at the DMV. Anthony decided to write this book to help others. Many students don't pass the

DMV practice test because they don't know what to study. Blessed Driving School has taken the

guesswork out of studying, and Anthony hopes this book helps even more students find

success.
