Brian D. Fors

Brian D Fors is an historian and archivist who currently serves as the Curator of the Waring Historical Library and as an Assistant Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Library in Charleston, South Carolina. He is also the co-founder and historical consultant with the The History Writers.

Dr. Fors was born in North Dakota, earned a B.A. in history from Moorhead (MN) State University, an M.A. and PhD in history from the University of Iowa, was certified as an archivist at the National Archives in Washington DC, and is a certified Digital Archivist Specialist. He served as the Archivist for the United States Naval Academy, taught at both community colleges and universities, and served as an academic dean for ten years.

Throughout his career, Dr. Fors has focused on supporting and telling the stories of rural America and everyday people. He lives with his wife on Johns Island, South Carolina.
