Ronnie Deaton

Ronnie Deaton is a true Kentucky native whose family heritage began in the Appalachian hills of eastern Kentucky. He was born in a log cabin nestled on a hillside overlooking the Little Laurel River in Laurel County, Kentucky, in 1945, a twin in a family of nine children.

I am a Kentucky native blessed with the remembrance of my childhood mountain home in eastern Kentucky.

My knowledge of Kentucky and a lifetime of mountain experiences support my writings, From Whence Cometh Thou, The Trial of Lessie Johnson, Rufus and Arnold, and Madison Houston.

My wife and I spend leisure time at an off-grid cabin nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest. I continue to write stories about growing up in rural Eastern Kentucky and an exciting tour of duty in the US Army. My wife and I have 154 years of experience with adventures in eastern Kentucky. You may do the math.

I was educated in Kentucky, served in the United States Army, and have three lovely daughters. My writings started in the later years of my life but have given me a lifetime of experiences to draw upon. I will continue to write as long as there are stories to be told about adventures in rural eastern Kentucky. All my writings have been based on facts and infused with fictional details to give the reader an exciting adventure into the lives of people from eastern Kentucky.
