Olinthus Gilbert Gregory (1774 1841) was a notable British mathematician and educator, recognized for his impactful contributions to mathematics education. Serving as a tutor at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, he advocated for clearer teaching methods and authored influential textbooks, including "A Treatise of Mathematics" and "Examples of the Processes of the Differential and Integral Calculus." Appointed to the prestigious Lucasian Chair of Mathematics at Cambridge in 1807, Gregory's influence extended beyond academia. Alongside his mathematical pursuits, he held strong religious convictions, aiming to reconcile scientific knowledge with faith. As a member of esteemed scientific societies, Gregory's dedication left a lasting legacy in both mathematics and education. He passed away on February 2, 1841, in Cambridge, England.
