What if we judged the Wolf too quickly?
For generations, children have heard only one version of Little Red Riding Hood. But tonight, the voice no one ever listened to finally gets a chance to speak.
The Wolf tells his side of the story: his hunger, his fear, the secret he shares with Grandma… and the three lies he admits, one by one. Because this Wolf isn’t trying to prove he was right — he wasn’t, and he says so. He simply asks your child to listen until the very end… and then decide what to believe.
Even the famous words, “The better to eat you with…” may not mean what you think they do.
With The Wolf Tells the Story… Little Red Riding Hood, children discover that a story can change depending on who is telling it. Without ever preaching, this imaginative retelling helps children learn to:
• Look beyond appearances — understanding why someone may seem scary without excusing their actions.
• Recognize the emotions hidden behind behavior — hunger, loneliness, and the fear of asking for help.
• Notice how lies can “stack up like a tower”… and understand why towers eventually fall.
• Think for themselves, guided by the question the Wolf asks your child on the very last page.
Perfect for bedtime, this story ends where something even more meaningful begins: a conversation between you and your child.
Stories From the Other Side gives a voice to the characters we have always called the “villains” — not to decide who is right, but to inspire children to think, question, and understand.
Because hearing another side of a story is the first step toward understanding the world around us.
