When reading becomes a challenge: Does your loved one struggle to focus, or to read more than a few lines of text – yet they’ve been an avid reader and a great source of general knowledge in the past?
One solution: sharing a book of picture quizzes and fun facts, created by an experienced adult education author, with input from a wonderful Assisted Living and Dementia Lifestyle Coordinator.
In the Wild Picture Quiz is a thoughtful gift or therapy tool for anyone with mild cognitive impairment, or regaining reading skills after stroke, as well as hospital patients and residents in aged care.
Easy, but not too easy: Each quiz page has a large colour photograph, with a quiz question and three possible answers. You can read this aloud to your loved one, or you can ask them to read and test you – or another family member. If they still have the reading skills, it can be affirming for them to be the person with the knowledge.
The questions vary from easy to quite challenging, but when you look at the three possible answers, you can eliminate the wrong ones.
Fun facts included: Every 5 quiz pages, there’s an answer page with a mini fun fact for each question – long enough to be interesting, but not too long. (You can go straight to the answer page after each quiz question, if that works best for your loved one.)
In In the Wild Picture Quiz, you’ll discover:
- Six sets of 5 questions and fun facts, for a ‘just enough’ reading and discussion experience, presented in a colourful, slim, light, 8 x 10 paperback, easy to hold.
- Questions for someone with an interest in wildlife, world geography and general knowledge, for satisfaction in either getting them right or in finding out something new.
- Extra large 22-point font for easy reading.
- No reference to dementia (or other illness) anywhere inside the book, or on the cover. The back cover says simply: “Can you name the wildlife shown in this book? Keep your mind active as you answer – and see if you know the fun facts!”
- The chance to find more quiz books in this memory-friendly series. (Just click on 'Unforgettable Notes' up at the top of this page, under the title.)
Also perfect in waiting rooms, memory care programs and day activity centres, and for the vision-impaired.
If you value spending meaningful time with a loved one, giving them the chance to shine, or to be in charge of the questioning, you’ll enjoy this book – together.
Why not order a copy of In the Wild Picture Quiz to create that connection?

We provide affordable, preloved books and media to customers all over the world. A book leaves our collection of over seven million titles and begins a new chapter every two seconds, enabling more goods to be reused. - Ziffit: Through Ziffit, we buy. We give people around the world the opportunity to contribute to the circular economy, earn money and protect the planet, by trading their unwanted books and media. - Shopiago: Through Shopiago, we help others. By sharing the technology that has grown World of Books Group into the business it is today, we’re helping charities increase revenue and reduce waste through re-commerce.…
