He was a restless boy who never felt at home in his own mind.

In a small Newfoundland town where everyone knew his name, Jonathan Head grew up searching — for belonging, for peace, for something to quiet the chaos inside him. What he found instead was addiction. What started as experimentation became escape. And escape became survival.

By the time he was a young father, he was already fighting battles he didn’t understand. Drugs tightened their grip. Relationships crumbled. Trust shattered. He lost his home. He lost his freedom. And for a terrifying stretch of time, he lost his children.

There were nights spent in a car. Days filled with guilt and shame. Moments when giving up felt easier than fighting on.

But even at rock bottom, something refused to die.

Through courtrooms and custody battles, through relapse and redemption, through fear, threats, and heartbreak, Jonathan slowly began rebuilding what addiction had torn apart. One decision at a time. One sober day at a time.

Now nearly seven years sober, a father of five, and finally standing in the light he once thought he’d never reach, Jonathan shares the unfiltered truth about addiction, fatherhood, mental health, and the power of accountability.

This is not a story about perfection.

It’s a story about survival.
About breaking cycles.
About fighting for your children when you can barely fight for yourself.

And about proving that no matter how dark the night becomes, the sunrise is still possible.
