Paperback. Some people belong to the past.Others return to remind us that the past was never the whole story.Twenty years after leaving the town where she grew up, Helena returns for a school reunion carrying a life she never imagined as a teenager: a daughter she loves deeply, a marriage that has ended, a career built through years of effort, and the uneasy feeling that part of herself has been left unfinished. Then she sees Robson again. He was her first love. The boy who waited near the stairs. The one who wrote hurried notes, shared afternoons beneath an old tree, and disappeared from her life when distance, time, and adulthood took them in different directions. But Robson is no longer the boy Helena remembers. And Helena is no longer the girl he lost.As old classmates reunite and forgotten places awaken memories, the two begin to discover that meeting again is not about recovering what they once had. It is about understanding who they have become - the mistakes they made, the lives they built, the people they loved, and the fears they still carry.A forgotten note brings back a promise made at seventeen.A kiss beneath the same old tree opens a door neither expected to walk through again. But this time, memory will not be allowed to decide for them.WHEN I SAW YOU AGAIN is an intimate and deeply human novel about first love, second chances, motherhood, memory, emotional maturity, and the courage to begin again without pretending that time has not passed.Because true love does not ask us to become who we once were.Sometimes, it simply asks whether the people we are now are willing to meet each other again. Others return to remind us that the past was never the whole story.
Twenty years after leaving the town where she grew up, Helena returns for a school reunion carrying a life she never imagined as a teenager: a daughter she loves deeply, a marriage that has ended, a career built through years of effort, and the uneasy feeling that part of herself has been left unfinished.
And Helena is no longer the girl he lost.
As old classmates reunite and forgotten places awaken memories, the two begin to discover that meeting again is not about recovering what they once had. It is about understanding who they have become — the mistakes they made, the lives they built, the people they loved, and the fears they still carry.
A forgotten note brings back a promise made at seventeen.
A kiss beneath the same old tree opens a door neither expected to walk through again.
But this time, memory will not be allowed to decide for them.
WHEN I SAW YOU AGAIN is an intimate and deeply human novel about first love, second chances, motherhood, memory, emotional maturity, and the courage to begin again without pretending that time has not passed.
Because true love does not ask us to become who we once were.
Sometimes, it simply asks whether the people we are now are willing to meet each other again.
