Zustand: Hervorragend | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | Editorial cartoonist Paul Jamiol's fourth book of political cartoons represents his take on the world and on those in that world who should be scrutinized a little closer for their words and deeds. Upheaval, divisiveness, and a new Administration were hallmarks of the years 2017-2019 in which Americans were affected profoundly. This book is Jamiol's recording of that period in a selection of 150 cartoons. Jamiol's pursuit of honesty is relentless. "We need to care about our fellow Americans, not denigrate them or beat them down, and if that's happening, we need to bring it out into the light." Like all his books, this collection strives to be a truthful recording of the rising tide of spin from the White House occupant, his ilk, and the Right-wing media revisionists who want to "slide things past" the American people. These falsehoods come in waves that never seems to stop. They try to penetrate the American consciousness, hoping lies will be accepted as the truth. Hopefully this book of cartoons will turn the tide and hold some waves back so Jamiol's non-revisionist telling of events might also be heard. This book won't change your perception of the world. It will only show you how Jamiol perceives the world. Whether you agree with his handling of an issue, you will be captivated by his creativity, poignancy, toughness, and honesty. It targets readers interested in politics, issues, a cartoonist's take on the world, or are just curious about our changing political landscape. Visual commentary can highlight an issue more clearly than the written word.…
