Descripción del artículo del vendedor

[xii], 147, [1], [4]pp, sepia frontispiece & plates as called for, woodcut illustrations in text, additional portrait of the author inserted at front. A nice clean copy. Contemp. full diced brown calf, decorative gilt borders, spine ruled & decorated in gilt; extremities sl. rubbed. Inscription on verso of leading f.e.p.: 'Mary Gell, the gift of the Author'. The first, 'To the Memory of William Fifth Duke of Devonshire' (1813) is recorded at Edinburgh on Copac and at Yale only on OCLC. The second, 'Inscription for a Monument', 1801, is unrecorded although both are held at the Museum of English Rural Life which houses the Englefield archive. 'Inscription to a Monument' was written 'to the memory of those sailors, whose bodies were (after the wreck of the Royal George, who sunk at her anchors, at Spithead, in the year 1782) cast up on the beach, at Ryde'.…
