Descripción del artículo del vendedor

Philadelphia, PA: Walt Whitman Fellowship, 1895., 1895. Very good. - Octavo, 9-1/4 inches high by 6-3/4 inches wide. Softcover, bound in cream-colored printed self-wrappers. [4] pages, numbered 15 through 18. The edges of the pages are very slightly darkened. Near fine. RARE. "Walt Whitman Fellowship Papers: Second Year: 7. Philadelphia, November, 1895". The successful Philadelphia lawyer Thomas Biggs Harned (1851-1921) was one of Whitman's three literary executors. The brother-in-law of Horace Traubel, Harned was acquainted with Whitman for 20 years and was in nearly daily contact with the poet in the last years of Whitman's life. Whitman frequently dined at Harned's well-appointed home in Camden, a social center frequently visited by prominent people where the poet shared meals and drink while entertaining his companions and Harned's three children. Harned served as a speaker and pallbearer at Whitman's funeral and funded the construction of Whitman's mausoleum.
