Virginia Woolf's celebrated modernist masterpiece, The Waves, published by Leonard and Virginia Woolf at The Hogarth Press in 1931. - Widely regarded as one of Woolf's finest and most experimental works, The Waves is considered a landmark achievement in twentieth-century literature and remains one of the key titles of the Bloomsbury period. - Condition & Description: A high-quality facsimile dust jacket accompanies the book, reproduced from the original 1931 first impression jacket and retaining the original publisher's price of 7s. 6d. net to the front prelim and 7/6 on the spine. - The jacket design is by Vanessa Bell, Virginia Woolf's sister and a central figure within the Bloomsbury Group. - Purple cloth boards, reinked. Also present are several later owner-added items relating to Virginia Woolf, including a pasted in image of Virginia Woolf when she was about 20 years old pasted over the copyright details on copyright page. Her famous purple signature pasted on the full title page and finally: an old newspaper article is pasted onto the last blank end page.
