Two draft scripts for the 1992 film. The first draft (dated 1/11/91) gives credits for the film's original screenwriters, Philippe Browning and Andrew Davis. Two months later, as seen in the second draft (dated 3/30/91), the script was rewritten by Dean Devlin ("Independence Day," 1996, and "Godzilla," 1998), and he would be given sole final credit. Two soldiers kill each other in Vietnam but are listed as MIA so they can be shipped to a top-secret facility where a team of scientists led by Colonel Perry (O'Ross) can turn them into super-soldiers known as "UniSols." Luc Devreux (Van Damme) and Andrew Scott (Lundgren) are "reanimated" and resume their feud, and both grow increasingly human. Television reporter Veronica Roberts (Walker) befriends one of them and travels across the country, constantly chased by the other soldier, until a final showdown. The last film to be recorded in CDS (Cinema Digital Sound), an early multichannel surround sound format (other films include "The Doors," "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," and "Edward Scissorhands").Shot on location in Arizona and at the Hoover Dam in Nevada.First draft:Silver titled wrappers with studio name and logo in black.
