Ping-gam Go wrote this book in response to customer demand for the same powerful learning tools provided in Go's Understanding Chinese Character books. Go creates a full lesson plan to learn Kanji characters by revealing the hidden art, myth, and culture within the characters of the written language through ancestral forms. Lessons cover 313 Japanese Kanji characters, which is about one-third of the required number of characters that an elementary schoold student in Japan should know. Flashcards are provided as a useful teaching tool. They are divided into easy, not-so-easy, and difficult sections. A fun book for perusing, too!
Acerca del autor: Ping-gam Go, who descended from the Fukien province in China, was born in Java, Indonesia. He traveled abroad for his education, earning degrees in physics and mathematics from the University of Amsterdam and postgraduate degrees in geology from Imperial College of Science & Technology in London and Leyden University in Holland.After working for the Indonesian Geological Survey in Java, he returned to Amsterdam, where he worked as a science editor for Elsevier Publishing Company. Af the time, Elsevier compiled and produced English translations of all Nobel Prize Lectures, which were held in the winner's native language. The Nobel Foundation in Sweden officially recognized Ping-gam Go for his work as editor and for his contributions to these translations.
