"My Two Countries" is a significant collection of speeches delivered by Lady Astor, the first woman to take her seat in the British House of Commons. Compiled during her 1922 tour of the United States, this work reflects the unique perspective of an American-born woman who rose to the heights of British political life. Through these addresses, Astor explores the deep-rooted connections between her native and adopted homelands, emphasizing the shared values and responsibilities of the English-speaking peoples in a post-war world.

With her characteristic wit and directness, Lady Astor speaks on the vital role of women in politics, the necessity of social reform, and the importance of international cooperation. The work serves as a primary document of a transformative period in 20th-century history, capturing the voice of a pioneer who challenged the status quo of gender and governance. "My Two Countries" provides readers with a firsthand look at the rhetoric and passion of a woman who helped redefine the landscape of modern democracy. This volume remains a compelling resource for those interested in political history, women's suffrage, and the enduring bond between the United States and Great Britain.
