Paperback. "Two Black Crows in the A.E.F." is a humorous fictional narrative centered on the misadventures of the famous comedic duo, Moran and Mack, as they navigate the trials and tribulations of service in the American Expeditionary Forces during World War I. Bringing the beloved stage characters to the written page, Charles E. Mack captures the distinctive dialogue and slow-witted banter that made the "Two Black Crows" a cultural phenomenon of the 1920s.The story follows the two protagonists from their recruitment through their experiences in France, blending military life with the absurdist comedy of their stage personae. Through a series of vignettes and dialogues, the work explores the lighter side of the Great War, focusing on the camaraderie, confusion, and daily routines of soldiers in the A.E.F. Rich in the vernacular of its time, this book offers a unique window into the popular entertainment and social attitudes of the post-war era. It serves as both a comedic relic of vaudeville history and a satirical look at the American military experience abroad. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
