CHAPTER 1
Should I Decide to Carry?
With the current crime rates in the United States, there's been a great deal of controversy between anti-gunners and those who don't want to give up the guns protected by the Second Amendment: the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
It's unfortunate that there are so many thugs and killers living among us while those who insist on removing our guns and weapons have most likely never been assaulted. In 1960, the number of MURDER in the US was 9,110, and for 31 years, it continued to climb, where it peaked at 24,700 in 1991, but with the ever-increasing concealed carry permits issued, the number of MURDER started to decline from 1991 to 14,612 in 2011. In 2010, 67.5% of all homicides in the United States were perpetrated using a firearm. I guarantee that people who have been on the wrong end of a gun barrel will support those who want to prevent it because it's not a good feeling. I grew up in drive-by shootings, gang and drug-related killings, and fistfights to resist being beaten. I had 5 guns pulled on me and was lucky enough to live through them and took one with a gun grab, aside from being hit with clubs, bricks, and other things, but there are people who will cut you up and put you in trash bags. They don't care about your life! Some gang members will kill for initiation or be killed themselves as a penalty, while innocent people die just because others are trying to be the two toughest kids on the block. I decided not to include any graphic pictures of victims due to their nature, but I assure you that if you watched the video that I saw while drug cartels kidnapped a pretty young woman and they used a razor to hack the head off of her conscious body while she was kneeling outdoors, they also filmed it to make their video very effective so their future victims will do anything and everything they want them to, but if you saw this, you'd certainly pay attention to everything in this book and never have to make up your mind to own and carry a gun for survival. Remember, they killed her after they were finished with her. DEATH comes around only once!
I've had broken and shattered bones and scars and been shot, so you can understand my lifetime of studying to stay alive. I don't trust thugs of any kind once they direct their attention to me. I've come to my brother's rescue at times and he has come to mine other times; it was a way of life, but the thugs eventually become hardened criminals and killers. Unfortunately, many breed new criminals, and because of what I was exposed to in life, I decided to write a book to help teach what so many people don't know about firearms and about protecting themselves. So there might be a word or two about me here and there throughout the text to explain things in reference, but very minimal once past the first few pages. I'd never hesitate to protect my life or the life of an innocent person if I'm able. I learned it at a very young age when I came home crying one day. A big guy beat me up, and my father, a World War II army veteran who had traveled the South Pacific and Japan and had no sympathy for thugs, sent me out to beat him up, or I'd have to deal with him. So just before I beat the daylights out of this thug, I apologized and then found that the guy twice my size became limp on the ground while he cried this time. I think my dad was sorry because once my fear was broken, I never backed down from a fight the rest of my life, if it was obvious that I was being forced to fight, and I put down some real bruisers out of necessity. The point in my mentioning this is because I've talked to adults who have never been in any kind of fight in their entire life and those who have a great fear of it happening. They don't even have the knowledge of using any firearms but find themselves looking to learn. There are too many with opinions other than the true facts. You can learn to overcome your fears, and you can learn to defend yourself. Somehow, I figure you're going to pay very close attention throughout the rest of this book. If you do, you won't be sorry.
Due to my lifetime of dealing with thugs, and the residual aches and pains that linger on for life, I learned to be wise and do my best to outsmart them, which doesn't always work. Fear keeps people from protecting themselves and their families, but everyone is very capable of confronting what comes to them in some way and not just allowing killers to do them in by KILLING them and wasting their life, just so the punk gets his kicks or initiation. One fellow was confronted by a killer with a gun, and he said, "In the name of God, your gun won't fire," and so the thug decided to put it to the test, and bullets ripped through the victim's body. Don't get me wrong, some are bad hombres, but many don't want to die either, while some of them just may stand their ground, so you have to understand this and stand your ground too if you want to stay alive. "Never tempt a thug to shoot you because they just might." Some travel in groups and many fight in groups, so there's no way to try to rethink or come to any terms with this breed; you have to learn to deal with them and fight back, but you have to learn to recognize the right time to react and the severity of the threat.
If you read this book, it will give you your money's worth, I assure you. You'll learn all about firearms and what to do to be able to react in a timely manner and fend off the threat to save yourself or a loved one, maybe even another innocent person. I'm giving you a book full of facts, and you have to decide what to do with your newfound knowledge. There's a great deal of information regarding various firearms and assorted sights, but I feel most households can use a copy of this book because it covers many firearms owned in American households and clarifies specifics while doing away with many myths. Any safety benefit gained from carrying a firearm depends on the owners having appropriate training and understanding of developing the skills, abiding by the rules, and learning to compensate for varied conditions! While so many people are killed every day, if you learn one thing in this book that might help you save your life, then it was well worth the money.
If you already have your concealed carry permit—just because a person is legally authorized to carry a weapon—it does not mean you have the proper training and judgment to use it during an emergency or crisis. If you obtain your concealed carry license or permit (and I hope you do), there's a BILL before Congress, HR822 for national concealed carry reciprocity between states. Under the house legislation, HR822 will authorize people with a concealed carry permit in one state to carry a concealed weapon in every other state that gives people the right to carry concealed weapons. If this bill gets passed, you can travel nationwide without fear of being a victim because the other states will honor your license. Presently, you can already obtain licenses in several states, and many states will honor the license of other states on their list. Check the states that your state will honor, with your attorney generals, and make sure you study the laws in every state you plan to travel, including your own.
Don't become a dead victim because you deny the fact that you can be next on the list of those being killed! Guns don't kill people, but people certainly kill people!
It's time we take America back from the criminals who have no value for life other than their own. They get a free ride in jail with housing, food, medical care, pay, rest, and relaxation, and when they get out and kill someone, they get free representation while the innocent people who try to save their own lives and the lives of their families have to face the law for practicing self-defense and hurting these criminals who are often repeat offenders and always claim that their rights were violated, but what about yours?
You will find information here for rifles, shotguns, handguns, how to use them, and how to stop a threat as fast as you can. We'll cover sights, scopes, targets, and shooting procedures for handguns, including the way it all works, in addition to holsters and the best one for your needs and so much more. Within a few days, you will have a great deal of more knowledge than you could ever imagine, and this book can be used to train people for the things they might not be aware of, and it would be a great purchase for those wanting to learn their way, including for concealed carry protection.
Study the chart, where the crime went up steadily for 31 years, peaking in 1991, and, with so many guns being increasingly carried, the crime had gone down steadily!

While your knowledge of firearms may be somewhat nonexistent today, by next week, you'll know more than so many walking the streets who think they do. This book is all facts, but you have to be able to use them! A couple of reading references will be mentioned for other books that have nothing to do with firearms, but just bear with me as we go from the basics to the advanced. Various firearms will be mentioned throughout the book for references. This book will give you your money's worth, I assure you.
The Powers of Observation
There are many things we can study to try to recognize something improper, but we must learn to think properly first to effectively communicate. While we're sure we figure we've confirmed one thing, it just might actually be different. In one incident, a man was taking his young son in the car to run a few errands, and he was preparing to back up out of the driveway, so he asked his son if there were any bicycles behind the car, and the boy looked around and said no. The father very confidently backed up the car over some toys and a wagon while he heard them crunching under his wheels. While he immediately shouted at the boy and blamed him for this incident, and while he was claiming that the boy had told him there was nothing in the driveway behind him, the boy who was very upset and confused told his father that he never said that. The boy did, however, say that the father had asked if there were any bicycles, and there were no bicycles. The boy said there were many other things in the driveway, but the father never asked about any of those items, just bicycles. You can see how thinking properly of the way we do things in our life, including someone asking such simple questions properly, directly affects the outcome or the results. Such simple errors in our everyday thinking causes so many situations like the bicycles, which is also responsible for many misunderstandings between a husband and wife where they may tend to argue about what they said or what they meant, but the fact is that it happens every day, and by simply making an honest and conscious effort to say exactly what we mean, life may improve a hundredfold for many of us.
Honesty is always the best policy (unless confronted by a thug). So many people try to create the illusion of being a good person, very honest and very truthful, while they might be stabbing you in the back or about to at that very same instant. They might volunteer certain information that has nothing to do with the current conversation by cleverly slipping it in, and, to those knowledgeable in such things, it stands out like a blinking light. A person who might get involved in occasional illegal practices may buddy up to you, thinking this will throw any improper thoughts of them getting involved in wrongdoings out the window, but people experienced in these matters of observing might suspect them of being deceptive, depending on how much they try to influence or impress others. A person who goes overboard and brags about his extensive military knowledge or actions while in the military service may not even be a veteran, and many phonies misconfigure the uniform protocol, but someone knowledgeable sees these things as clearly as knowing his name, especially where so many military phonies brag about being trained for so many numerous jobs, but the military trains for certain specific jobs to get exceptional knowledge and skillful abilities. Can you imagine an infantryman (foot soldier) flying the space shuttle because his side jobs are being astronaut and electronic technician to repair satellites? The more lies that are told, the better his memory better be, because the stories start breaking down, but if it's the truth, there's no problem remembering it. Sometimes it's so easy to pick out numerous lies in a single conversation between those knowledgeable and those thinking they're really making a big impression, but let me explain techniques that may help you before we move on.
While there are many people, even some you might know who get to be known as professional liars, especially criminals, I used to study what they call body language (a science of nonverbal communication), which is used to analyze commonly used gestures made by millions of people every day. I figured it might help me a great deal throughout my life. At one time in my life, I applied to the FBI and the US Secret Service for anti-terrorist work who study body language extensively. I was always studying unusual things that most other people don't while constantly becoming much more observant of people who unknowingly speak a silent language that is unknown to the majority of the population. Many politicians spend a lot of money, being instructed in depth on body language and avoiding directly addressing specific subjects of discussion for every reason. When the president of the United States addresses the nation and offers tax cuts to some groups, he says so, but to avoid saying increases, he says adjustments, and when the cost of Medicare and the health care for the retired and disabled is going up and the benefits they will pay out are going down, he says reform so that even though he says these things to the nation, he feels he did his job by telling them what they need to know, and, surely, he felt he didn't lie, but the actual truth is, many of the people who heard him speak still have no idea what's happening or do not know that their benefits are even being cut due to his bending the truth with clever word manipulation and word play. So after being told of his plan of reform, they clap for him, not knowing they are losing. With the US military interaction going on in Iraq and Afghanistan, he says he's withdrawing 10,000 troops as if it's really significant, but then everyone asks how many military personnel are in a troop. But to clear up this question, I say a troop is only (one) man, so ten thousand troops is exactly 10,000 men, not the millions so many people perceive. Similarly, when the politicians say improved gun safety, they don't mean technologically or mechanically advanced devices or laws to make safer guns, their definition of safety means "by disarming us."
If the criminals know they speak only with their body actions in many ways despite what they're saying, they will only lie if their lips are moving. Salesmen and business executives study body language to read and understand when people are more interested so they can make more sales and increase their income. Studies have taken place among thousands of people who attended seminars where the discussions were specifically arranged differently and the speaker was using certain specific gestures in his speech and displayed prearranged hand interactions in motion while speaking to his audience, and the results confirmed the already proven facts. The very reason a candidate for office, even for the White House, gets the popular vote and the trust of the people is due to his performance, but then he turns the country upside down when it's time for reality because he was tutored on how to get your attention and gain your confidence (and therefore get your vote), but he still doesn't have the proper knowledge or experience to go beyond his so-called popularity that was otherwise gained by actual deception while everyone then says that, well, more than half the country voted for him, so he must be good. There's no room for assumptions when it's LIFE or DEATH! Even a lie, to those who listen and believe it, becomes true. By studying body language and observing what you encounter in everyday life, you will start tuning your brain to alerting you to what's happening that you already see but were never aware of. A book on body language would be good reading, so you can adapt it to never trusting your killers while they say one thing and mean another, but review the books before you buy one. Some are good and some are not. You will start understanding how to interpret such things and learn to adapt a great deal of what you learn from your everyday life.
