Every human culture and religion commemorate the marriage of a man and his wife with rituals of splendor and pageantry. It is likely that God established the blueprint for engagement, marriage, and the wedding celebration soon after He created the first man and his wife. Numerous Scriptures throughout the Old and New Testaments describe the process of betrothal and marriage between a man and a woman. The Jewish people have excellently preserved God’s Old Testament Word over the millennia. Similarly, they have maintained the instruction God provided for establishing the union between a man and his wife as close to its original form as possible. As a result, the ancient Jewish rituals of betrothal, marriage, and celebration portray the prophetic purpose of God. This book weaves the description of these rituals together for the reader and links them to the relationship between Jesus and His bride. God desires us to comprehend His purpose for establishing a marriage between one man and one woman and embrace the blessings He has conferred through this institution. In so doing, our marriages will bear God’s testimony to the lost people of this world.
