Descripción del artículo del vendedor

A pristine, complete boxed set of the autobiography of Margaret Anderson, the legendary founder of The Little Review. This set originates from the estate of Ben Raeburn, the publisher of Horizon Press, who issued these editions. It includes My Thirty Years' War, The Fiery Fountains, and The Strange Necessity, housed in the original publisher's slipcase. Key Features: +++ The Set: Includes all three volumes of Anderson's memoirs, covering the Modernist literary explosion, the Ulysses obscenity trial, and her life in Paris with Georgette Leblanc and Jane Heap. +++ Subject Matter: A foundational text of Lesbian history, capturing the "Left Bank" creative explosion and the lives of its most iconic women. +++ Provenance: From the library of Ben Raeburn (Horizon Press). Includes an original 1973 New York Times obituary for Margaret Anderson laid in (now in protective sleeve). And the four page NYT Book Review. These were his copies. +++ Format: Three hardcovers in quarter cloth over colored boards (yellow, red, blue) with gilt stamping. Housed in the original brown slipcase with a large pictorial paste-down label. +++ Visuals: Illustrated with photographs by Berenice Abbott, Man Ray, and others. Condition: Fine Books / Near Fine Slipcase -- The books are crisp, tight, and appear unread. There is faint offsetting on pages 20-21 of Volume 1 caused by the laid-in newspaper obituary (now sleeved). The dust jackets show expected spine darkening but are intact. The slipcase is solid and clean with minimal shelf wear and only minor rubbing to the edges of the paste-on title label. 3 Volumes; 9.5 inches tall. Historical Significance: Margaret Anderson (1886-1973) was the firebrand of American Modernism. By founding The Little Review, she gave a platform to Ezra Pound, T.S. Eliot, and James Joyce (serializing Ulysses when no one else dared). This Horizon Press set, published just years before her death, was the final 'authorized' presentation of her life's work, overseen by her friend and publisher Ben Raeburn. It is a cornerstone set for any collection of 20th-century literary history, feminism, or LGBTQ+ history. Keywords: Margaret Anderson, Little Review, Modernism, James Joyce, Ulysses, Feminism, LGBTQ History, Ben Raeburn, Horizon Press, Berenice Abbott, Jane Heap, Literary Memoir.…
