An early edition; vi, 72 pages + 38 hand colored plates, drawn and engraved by F P Nodder. 230mm x 140mm (9 x 6 inches): Thomas Martyn [1735-1825] was Professor of Botany at the University of Cambridge; F. P. Nodder was a botanical painter to Queen Charlotte and was associated with Sir Joseph Banks. Boards detached and worn, spine strip almost entirely gone, early ownership signature, light staining and foxing, etc. in places, otherwise good overall condition with bright 18th c. coloring to all 38 plates.
